0.5% on the first $55,000
1.0% on $55,000.01 to $250,000
1.5% on $250,000.01 to $400,000
2.0% on $400,000.01 to $2,000,000
2.5% on the portion above $2,000,000 (residential, 1–2 single family)

Toronto MLTT (additional)

Toronto applies a municipal LTT roughly mirroring the provincial brackets, with additional brackets at higher value tiers introduced in 2024.

First-time homebuyer rebate

Eligible first-time buyers receive up to $4,000 off the Ontario LTT and (in Toronto) up to $4,475 off the Toronto MLTT. Full rebate on properties up to roughly $368,000 (provincial) and $400,000 (Toronto); partial above.
